Long night at the Museum

Philharmonie

This weekend was the 'Lange Nacht der Museen'.  Two times a year all of Berlin's museums are open until 2am.  Each museum has it's own program of music, talks, tours and activies and one ticket gets you entry into all. It's a great night - the museums are packed and there are free shuttle buses to drive you around to the different museum areas of Berlin.  We ended up staying in one place and visted the national art gallery and the museum of design, where we listened to a talk on the culture of chocolate and hot chocolate drinking in the early 1700s.   I took these pictures as we were waiting for the bus home.  The building is the Philharmonic Orchestra's home, but mostly I just loved the moon with the clouds dancing around it.

Hope everyone had a lovely couple of days.

  5. museums night... always remembers me of the one we joined once when living in paris... it was so badly organised that we walked home without having seen one museum...
I love those nights and in Berlin they (still do???) put beautiful coloured lights and all the museums look amazing

  6. What an awesome idea! Although listening to talk about chocolate would probably set me up for some awesome cravings.

  7. Oh! I did that last year. It was SO fun, but I think I managed to just hang out at the aquarium for most of the time.
